'Evening Under the Stars'
is the AIDS Assistance Program's cornerstone annual gala
fundraiser that yearly generates a major portion of the operating
budget for our Food Voucher Program for low-income men, women
and children living with HIV/AIDS here in the Coachella Valley.
Our past year's galas have accounted for over half of our
food voucher expenses each year. 2010's gala will be the 17th
year for gala fundraising event, which the local Desert Sun
newspaper has called "The Jewel of the Desert's fundraising
Season".

Past Performers: In the past 16 years 'Evening Under
the Stars' has featured the talents of Nell Carter, Tyne
Daly, Melissa Manchester, Jane Oliver, Lorna Luft, Susanne
Sommers, Bea Arthur and our 10th anniversary spectacular
highlighted Barry Manilow and his orchestra. Ms. Nancy Wilson
headlined our 2004 gala with the Las Vegas Rat Pack & the
Dry Martini Orchestra as our opening. 2005 showcased the
legendary talents of Ms. Lily Tomlin, 2006 saw a return
of Barry Manilow with his new Las Vegas Review,
2007 and 2009 showcased the legendary talents of Mary Wilson of the
Supremes, and 2008 presented Pink Martini!
2010 Performers: We are
proud and privileged to present The Music of ABBA!
This is the World's Greatest ABBA show, performed by ARRIVAL (direct from Sweden) and features some of ABBA's original musicians!
Location: 2010's black
tie optional (Festive Attire encouraged!) gala is held under the stars at the foot of the San Jacinto
Mountains on the greens of the exclusive O'Donnell Golf Club
in downtown Palm Springs.
When: The 2010 gala will be Saturday, May 1, 2010.
Audience: Over the years,
this event has grown to become one of the premier events
in the Coachella Valley's fundraising/social season with approximately 1000+ guests attending.
Guests pay anywhere from $395 for an individual ticket to $25,000 for corporate
or individual sponsoring tables of 10.
The Evening includes: A hosted cocktail
reception sponsored by Stolichnaya beginning at 6:00PM...Elaborate
Silent auction beginning at 6:00PM...Sumptuous seated dinner
at 7:30PM...Live Auction at 8:00PM and the Featured Entertainer's
performance at 8:30PM. The evening concludes between 10:00
and 10:30 PM
